Zcash Fund Draws $15.2 Million As October Flows Stay Negative

23 October 2026 at 05:45

TL;DR: Farside’s Zcash table records a $15.2 million inflow for ZCSH on October 21. Two positive sessions improved the recent picture, but the displayed October 2–21 period still totals $70.5 million of net withdrawals.

Demand returned to the Zcash investment product tracked under ticker ZCSH on Wednesday, producing its strongest positive session in the October dates displayed by Farside Investors.

The research firm’s flow table records $15.2 million in net inflows for October 21, following $1.6 million the previous day. Combined, the two sessions brought in $16.8 million.

That improvement comes after several withdrawals earlier in the month. Adding the observations shown from October 2 through October 21 produces a net outflow of $70.5 million. The calculation covers those displayed dates, rather than claiming a complete calendar-month total.

A Fund Flow Is A Narrower Signal Than Network Demand

The product’s ticker appears in Grayscale Zcash Trust’s August SEC filing, which described the planned listing and name change. That filing provides background on the vehicle; it is not the source of Wednesday’s daily flow estimate.

The current reading comes from Farside’s compiled dataset. It should be attributed as such, rather than represented as a fresh issuer filing or an independently audited record of every purchase of ZEC.

Investment-product subscriptions can be a useful measure of demand through brokerage channels. They do not show all buying across exchanges, identify the investors making the allocations or measure the use of Zcash’s privacy features.

They also differ from trading volume in the fund’s shares. Shares can change hands between investors without the same dollar amount entering the vehicle as new capital. That is why a flow figure and a busy trading session need not tell the same story.

Wednesday’s inflow is meaningful against the recent sequence because it adds a second positive observation after net selling. The larger period remains negative, so describing it as a complete reversal in October demand would go beyond the numbers.

The next comparison is with subsequent fund-flow observations, not an assumed reaction in the token price. The two-day improvement can be reported on its own without assigning it to a particular network announcement or market narrative.

KuCoin Adds USDT Perpetuals Tied To Stocks And ETFs

23 October 2026 at 04:15

TL;DR: KuCoin announced five new USDT-margined perpetual contracts for October 21, including products tracking Goldman Sachs shares and the leveraged MSTU ETF. The contracts offer up to 20x leverage in supported markets.

KuCoin is extending its derivatives menu further into traditional financial assets with five contracts scheduled for launch on Wednesday.

The exchange’s official listing notice names URNMUSDT, GSUSDT, MSTUUSDT, FWDIUSDT and USDEXUSDT. It sets a 09:00 UTC October 21 start and advertises leverage of up to 20 times, subject to regional availability.

Although KuCoin groups the products under a stock-index label, the disclosed references include individual companies and exchange-traded funds. They cover the Sprott Uranium Miners ETF, Goldman Sachs, the T-Rex 2X Long MSTR Daily Target ETF, Forward Industries and StablecoinX.

Price Exposure Without Share Ownership

A perpetual contract provides exposure to movements in its reference price. Buying one does not mean acquiring the underlying share or fund unit, and the economic result depends on the derivative’s own terms.

That distinction becomes particularly important for MSTU. The reference fund itself targets leveraged daily exposure to Strategy shares. A leveraged contract tracking that fund adds another layer of sensitivity; it is not equivalent to simply holding a conventional unleveraged stock position.

The 20x figure is an advertised maximum for the contracts, not a description of the risk every account will necessarily take. Position size, margin, liquidation rules and changes in the underlying price determine the exposure of an individual trade.

KuCoin lists round-the-clock trading and funding settlements every eight hours for the five contracts. That creates a calendar mismatch: the derivatives can remain active when the reference securities’ home markets are closed. The reference-price methodology matters particularly during those gaps.

Wednesday’s notice establishes the planned product additions and their stated specifications. It does not establish the depth of their order books or demonstrate that a large position could be entered and exited at a quoted price.

The practical expansion is access to more equity-linked exposures through USDT-margined contracts, with the risks of both the reference asset and the derivatives structure attached.

Ethereum ETFs Break Five-Day Outflow Run With $14.9 Million Inflows

22 October 2026 at 11:10

TL;DR: Ethereum ETFs returned to net inflows on October 21 after five negative sessions. The $14.9 million gain was modest, with Grayscale and Fidelity offsetting continued withdrawals from BlackRock’s ETHA.

The losing streak ended. The recovery in Ethereum fund demand was considerably less decisive.

US spot Ether ETFs recorded $14.9 million in net inflows on Wednesday, Farside Investors’ figures show. Grayscale’s ETH product brought in $28.1 million and Fidelity’s FETH added $13 million, while BlackRock’s ETHA lost $29.3 million.

Smaller positive readings from Bitwise, Franklin and Morgan Stanley helped leave the overall total above zero. The other listed products recorded no net movement.

A Positive Session After A $388.9 Million Drain

The five preceding trading days, October 14 through October 20, produced combined withdrawals of $388.9 million. Wednesday recovered approximately 3.8% of that sum, based on the same table.

That makes the change in direction useful without making it a full repair. The aggregate turned positive because subscriptions at some providers exceeded redemptions at another, rather than because every major fund began attracting money simultaneously.

Issuer differences deserve attention. Investors can move between competing products, change portfolio exposure or manage positions for reasons a daily aggregate does not disclose. The data establishes the net result; it cannot identify the motives of the underlying accounts.

The Next Test Is Persistence

For Ethereum, a small inflow after sustained withdrawals removes one immediate source of pressure. It does not settle the larger question of whether demand for the investment products is rebuilding.

A stronger recovery would involve repeated positive totals, with contributions from more than a narrow set of funds. Continued redemptions at a large product could still outweigh subscriptions elsewhere, as the recent sequence demonstrates.

Fund flows also need to be kept separate from network activity. ETF subscriptions measure demand for a particular investment wrapper. They do not directly measure Ethereum transaction fees, staking participation or how much value applications settle.

Wednesday’s session therefore changes the description from an uninterrupted outflow run to an uneven pause in selling. The next few daily reports will show whether that pause develops into something more durable.

Bitcoin ETFs Draw $524.8 Million As BlackRock And Fidelity Lead

22 October 2026 at 10:30

TL;DR: US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $524.8 million on October 21, according to Farside Investors. BlackRock and Fidelity supplied most of the inflow, extending a three-session run of net buying.

Bitcoin’s US exchange-traded funds recorded another half-billion-dollar session on Wednesday, with buying spread across more issuers than during the start of the week.

Farside Investors’ daily table puts October 21 net inflows at $524.8 million. BlackRock’s IBIT received $235 million and Fidelity’s FBTC added $212.7 million. Together, those two products accounted for approximately 85.3% of the total, calculated from the published figures.

A Broader Day Of Buying

Grayscale’s GBTC and Bitcoin Mini Trust, Bitwise’s BITB, Ark’s ARKB and Franklin’s EZBC also recorded positive flows. None of the funds in the table showed a net withdrawal for the session.

The latest result takes the October 19–21 total to $1.0747 billion. That calculation combines Monday’s $526.7 million, Tuesday’s $23.2 million and Wednesday’s $524.8 million.

For an ETF market often dominated by a single issuer, participation matters alongside the headline dollar amount. A large allocation to one product can reflect a particular client’s decision. Positive readings across several competing funds suggest that the day’s buying was less narrowly concentrated, even though the largest two still did most of the work.

Flows And Price Answer Different Questions

Net fund flows measure money entering or leaving the investment vehicles. They do not capture every Bitcoin trade, reveal each buyer’s holding period or establish that an investor has no offsetting position elsewhere.

That distinction limits what Wednesday’s number can tell traders about the next price move. Strong ETF demand can coexist with selling from other holders, and a daily creation figure is not a timetable for when every underlying coin was purchased.

The useful comparison is now whether the buying continues across multiple sessions and issuers. Wednesday improved both the size and breadth of reported demand. It still leaves the durability of that demand to subsequent trading days.

Swiss Financial Regulator Gives Green Light to Country’s First Bitcoin ETF

Swiss Financial Regulator Gives Green Light to Country’s First Bitcoin ETF

Swiss financial regulator FINMA has approved the country’s first bitcoin exchange-traded fund for retail investors.

The watchdog said Tuesday that the approval comes as people in Switzerland express a growing interest in crypto — particularly bitcoin.

Bitcoin ETFs — particularly in the U.S. — have widened the scope of investors who can buy and sell the leading cryptocurrency. Via shares that trade on the stock exchange, investors can buy exposure to the biggest cryptocurrency in a safe and regulated way.

“As early as 2021, FINMA authorised a fund for qualified investors that invests primarily in a basket of cryptocurrencies,” the announcement read.

— Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 20, 2026

“As Bitcoin has a long trading history and a particularly high trading volume compared with other cryptocurrencies, FINMA has approved an exemption from the applicable risk diversification rules in this case.”

It added: “At the same time, FINMA emphasises that investments in Bitcoin — even through an approved ETF — remain highly risky.”

The announcement did not reveal which asset manager or bank would debut the product. Switzerland already has crypto ETFs limited to institutional or qualified investors on the market.

In the U.S., bitcoin ETFs had the most successful debut in the history of investment vehicles when approved in 2024.

Now, traders, institutions, and retail investors can quickly buy shares that track the price of the leading cryptocurrency and not worry about exchanges or storage of the digital coin.

The funds, managed by Wall Street giants like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Morgan Stanley, manage over $97 billion in assets, according to CoinGlass data.

No ‘Uptober’ Yet: Bitcoin Slips 2% in a Month That’s Historically Bullish

Bitcoin’s price retook $82,000 on Monday as choppy trading last week stunted the coin’s gains.

The biggest cryptocurrency by market cap was recently trading for close to $82,393 — up by close to 2% over the past day but still down over a seven-day period.

Bitcoin has gotten off to a slow start for so-called Uptober, a month when the cryptocurrency has typically surged: Since the beginning of October, bitcoin’s price has dropped by 2%.

U.S. investors last week cashed out of exchange-traded funds, with speculators redeeming $228.4 million in shares from the investment vehicles managed by BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale, according to data from Farside Investors.

Bitcoin is often moved by investors buying shares of the U.S. ETFs. The funds give investors easy exposure to the asset via shares they can buy on their brokerage accounts.

Despite the slow October so far, analysts have said that bitcoin is now in a bull market after spending most of 2026 trading under $70,000 — well below its all-time high of $126,080.

Bitcoin’s price started rallying in August after the U.S. Treasury Department said it would more than double the size of its government debt repurchases. The coin had its best run in three years and third best August ever.

The coin’s price has recently benefited from the so-called debasement trade: when investors buy certain assets to hedge against currency being devalued. The dollar slid in value in August.

It continued to have a good September, rising nearly 6% over a 30-day period. Bitcoin in the third quarter of this year had its best three months since 2024.

After a record third quarter, will October keep the streak alive?

US Hoovers up Bitcoin While the World Runs on Its Digital Dollars: Report

America is accumulating bitcoin while exporting dollar-pegged stablecoins to everyone else, according to a new Chainalysis report.

The blockchain data said in its Wednesday report, “North America: Inside the Growth of Agentic Commerce,” that the U.S. became a net importer of Bitcoin in 2026 — for the first time since 2022.

According to the data, institutions this year have been buying bitcoin while retail largely sells.

“A dollar stablecoin is a way to hold dollars without an American bank account, and Americans already have one,” the report read.

“The rest of the world is pivoting to a digital dollar because it meets a need that American users don’t share. Meanwhile, Americans are leaning harder on bitcoin as an infinitely scarce store of value.”

It added that U.S. dominance keeps climbing: Since the 2024 launch of spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds, America’s share of global Bitcoin activity has risen every single reporting period — even as the overall U.S. crypto economy ($2.78 trillion) contracted 2.2% in a brutal bear market, retaining most of 2025’s near-doubling.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 after a decade of denying the products.

Managed by Wall Street titans like BlackRock, Fidelity, and most recently, Morgan Stanley, the funds had the most successful debut in the history of ETFs.

Institutions and Wall Street can now buy shares of the funds which track the price of bitcoin and take care of buying and selling the digital coin.

The approval of the ETFs has helped the industry mature, the report noted, and helped the U.S. become an overall bigger bitcoin investor.

Stablecoins, meanwhile, have turned U.S. debt into a “currency-of-choice for peer-to-peer economies as well as businesses working across borders,” the report continued.

“In the 2026 period we continued to see stablecoins enter new use cases most especially abroad, benefitting the U.S. companies, and the U.S. government, with billions of dollars in economic activity,” it added.

Since Donald Trump became president, he has signed a number of pro-crypto laws and executive orders. The GENIUS Act, signed in 2025, allows banks and other entities to issue stablecoins if they back the tokens with assets like U.S. Treasuries and provide monthly disclosures of their reserves.

Bitcoin ETFs Shed $729M in Two Days as Investors Reverse Course

Bitcoin ETFs Shed $729M in Two Days as Investors Reverse Course

U.S. investors this week reversed course, cashing out $729 million from spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds — putting downward pressure on the leading cryptocurrency’s price.

Funds managed by BlackRock, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, and ARK 21-Shares all experienced significant outflows on Wednesday and Thursday, according to data from Farside Investors.

Investors had started the week by selling close to $90 million in shares but then bought nearly $119 million on Tuesday.

The rest of the week has seen outflows following news that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates. Other negative news includes the price of Brent crude jumping following renewed attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Trump also hinted that talks with Iran weren’t bearing fruit — a sign war in the Middle East could continue.

Bitcoin’s price recently stood at a little over $82,688, down more than 3% over a seven-day period. The leading cryptocurrency has rebounded slightly over the past day, jumping nearly 2% over 24 hours.

Still, the coin was fast closing in on $90,000 last week. Investors are expecting decent returns as the month dubbed “Uptober” has historically delivered for bitcoin speculators.

The price of bitcoin has been particularly sensitive to geopolitical headwinds this year — especially since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran, leading to an oil price surge.

Oil prices going up tend to lead investors to bet on the Federal Reserve raising interest rates. And with higher interest rates comes less liquidity for the price of bitcoin to do well.

Still, that’s not always the case: the Fed last month talked tough on getting inflation down and raised interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point and bitcoin’s price rose in the following days.

Bitcoin’s price is 34% below the all-time high of $126,080 it touched in October. It has spent most of 2026 in a bear market but analysts are now increasingly pointing to evidence of a bull market following a rally in August and September.

Bitcoin ETFs Bring in $241M To Kick Start ‘Uptober’

Bitcoin ETFs Bring in $241M To Kick Start ‘Uptober’

Investors bought over $241 million in U.S. bitcoin exchange-traded funds last week, the third consecutive week of inflows that has helped keep the leading cryptocurrency’s price up during the start of so-called “Uptober.”

Data from Farside Investors shows that money hit the popular funds every day — apart from on Wednesday, when speculators pulled out nearly $149 million from the vehicles.

The price of bitcoin now is up close to 7% over a 30-day period, and was recently priced at $85,605.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $241.1 million last week, completing the third consecutive week of positive net inflows 🚀 pic.twitter.com/imYO76nqvd

— Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 5, 2026

Last week, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust took in the lion’s share of investment, receiving over $450 million in fresh cash.

Funds managed by Fidelity and Morgan Stanley also experienced significant trading action and inflows.

Bitcoin’s price is often buoyed by investors buying shares of the U.S. ETFs. The funds give investors easy exposure to the asset via shares they can buy on their brokerage accounts.

And so far, the October phenomenon dubbed “Uptober” is off to a good start: the month of October has historically delivered good returns for bitcoin investors.

Data firm CryptoQuant said in a September report last week that bitcoin was back in a bull market after crossing above its 365-day moving average, which the firm described as the “definitive technical signal” that has marked the start of the asset’s rally in past cycles.

Bitcoin’s price touched a record of $126,080 in October last year before sliding following a massive liquidation event. It has spent most of 2026 in a bear market.

Bitcoin Surges 40% in Its Best Quarter Since Late 2024

Bitcoin Surges 40% in Its Best Quarter Since Late 2024

Bitcoin is having one of its best quarters ever — another indication that the biggest cryptocurrency is in a bull market.

As noted by the The Kobeissi Letter this week, the price of bitcoin is now up close to 30% since August 19, when the U.S. Treasury announced it planned to more than double the size of its government debt repurchases.

Over the past quarter, the bitcoin price has surged by 40% — its best quarterly performance since Q4 2024.

Bitcoin’s price recently stood at nearly $83,698, unmoved over a 24-hour period but up 6% over a 30-day period.

The coin has benefited from news that the Treasury would try to lower bond yields — which have soared to highs not seen since the 2000s.

Bitcoin has done well with lower long-term yields because it reduces the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets like bitcoin and gold, and generally supports risk-on sentiment.

But despite the Treasury stepping in to try and tame the bond market, yields have continued to stay high.

Bitcoin investors don’t seem that bothered. The asset is still doing well as the dollar continues to slip. The so-called debasement trade — where investors throw money at an asset to hedge against a currency losing its value — is hot again after total U.S. debt topped $40 trillion for the first time in July.

The price of Bitcoin had been battered since notching a new all-time high of $126,080 in October, dropping by over 50%. Still, it has experienced the shallowest bear market — so far — in its history.

CryptoQuant said in a report last week that bitcoin was back in a bull market after crossing above its 365-day moving average — the “definitive technical signal” that has marked the start of Bitcoin’s bull markets in past cycles.

The coin has shrugged off the Federal Reserve raising interest rates and lawmakers blockage of landmark crypto legislation, the Clarity Act.

Bitwise And Vise Bring Crypto Model Portfolios To Financial Advisors

26 September 2026 at 08:30
  • Bitwise and Vise have launched diversified crypto model portfolios for financial advisers using the Vise platform.
  • Vise says its network covers more than 135,000 accounts and over $140 billion in platform assets.
  • Crypto allocations can now sit inside the same portfolio-management, rebalancing and tax framework as equities, bonds and alternatives.

Crypto Stops Being A Separate Portfolio

That is the main selling point.

Crypto allocations have often been managed in isolation.

An adviser may hold a Bitcoin ETF or another digital-asset product for a client, but the position can sit outside the normal process used to rebalance stocks, bonds and alternative investments.

Vise wants to remove that separation.

The Bitwise models can be placed inside the same household portfolio as equities, fixed income and other assets.

From there, Vise handles ongoing allocation, rebalancing and tax-management work alongside the rest of the account.

Bitwise provides the crypto research and model construction.

Vise provides the adviser-facing portfolio infrastructure.

The platform says it supports more than 135,000 accounts across wealth-management firms representing over $140 billion in platform assets.

Bitwise says it manages more than $9 billion in client assets.

Model Portfolios Could Make Crypto Easier To Scale Across Adviser Books

Model portfolios are already common in traditional wealth management.

Instead of every adviser independently selecting and weighting individual funds, a model provides a standardized allocation that can then be adjusted around client risk and objectives.

Bitwise is applying that structure to crypto-themed exchange-traded products.

That potentially makes digital-asset exposure easier for advisers to manage across hundreds or thousands of client accounts.

The timing matters.

Third-party model portfolio assets have grown rapidly, while spot crypto ETFs have given advisers regulated products that fit far more naturally into existing brokerage infrastructure.

The remaining problem is portfolio integration.

A Bitcoin or Ethereum allocation still needs sizing, monitoring and rebalancing.

Bitwise and Vise are essentially trying to turn that work into another routine part of portfolio management.

That is a quieter form of crypto adoption than somebody opening an exchange account.

It may also be the version that reaches far more conventional investors.
