When you’re busy gaming, creating a presentation, or compiling your codebase, it’s easy to forget about the kernel that’s at the heart of everything your computer does. You might not even think it gets updated all that often, and you probably don’t pay much attention to it when it does.

It’s fair to say that git is one of the most complicated commands you have installed on your machine. With over 180 subcommands (in version 2.55), it’s also a pretty good bet that there are one or two you’ve never even heard of, let alone tried out.

The more I use—and learn about—the command line, the more I want to do in it. Whether it’s playing music, working with a git repository, or browsing the web, if there’s a way it can be done in the terminal, I want to try it.
