SoFi Stock (SOFI) Soars 15% on Record Quarter, Crypto Reaches 503,000 Products

SoFi Technologies reported record third-quarter 2026 results earlier Tuesday, and its crypto business reached 503,070 products by quarter-end. At the time of writing, SoFi shares were up 14.59% on the day at $16.56.Β

The lender raised full-year guidance at the same time. SoFi returned to crypto investing in the fourth quarter of 2025, when it became the first U.S. nationally chartered bank to offer retail crypto trading.

That said, crypto remains a small line in the results. Crypto transaction revenue totaled $161.6 million in the quarter, but the cost of that revenue reached $160.0 million. Net crypto transaction revenue was $1.6 million, equal to 0.1% of total net revenue.Β

SoFi earns a fee on each buy and sell order, while the bulk of gross volume flows through as cost. For the first nine months of 2026, net crypto transaction revenue totaled $3.7 million on $417.5 million in gross revenue.

Per the company, member trading picked up in September. Members placed 218,469 trades, a 14% increase from August’s 191,359. Buy trades rose 18% to 133,937, and sell trades rose 8% to 84,532. Buy volume reached $33.8 million, and sell volume reached $39.1 million.Β

Members placed 25 trades of $100,000 or more. Bitcoin led trading volume with a 39% share. New traders drove much of the activity. 44% of September traders made their first-ever trade that month, 20% had traded before but not in August, and 36% traded in both months.

SoFi Crypto skews younger. 43% of members are millennials, the company said, born between 1981 and 1996, and the median member age is 36. On the stablecoin side, SoFi became the first national bank to go live with stablecoin settlement across Mastercard’s global payments network.Β

SoFi’s monster quarter

Outside of crypto and broadly speaking, SoFi beat Wall Street expectations for the third quarter of this year. The company earned $0.18 per share on an adjusted basis, topping the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.17 and rising from $0.11 a year earlier. Revenue reached $1.37 billion, 9.08% above consensus and up from $949.63 million a year ago.Β

SoFi has beaten consensus EPS estimates three times over the last four quarters and topped revenue estimates in all four. Shares have fallen 44.8% this year, while the S&P 500 gained 12.1%.Β

Zacks currently rates the stock Rank #3 (Hold), which signals performance in line with the market. Analysts expect $0.20 per share on $1.32 billion in revenue next quarter and $0.60 per share on $4.87 billion for the full year.Β

Founded as a student loan refinancing startup, SoFi has evolved into a full-scale financial services platform offering products ranging from IPO investing to credit cards and high-yield savings accounts. SoFi has a market cap of $21.5 billion.Β

Getty Images to keep Seattle HQ as it goes private through bankruptcy

Getty Images, the stock-photo giant with a presence in Seattle dating back to the dot-com era, plans to keep its headquarters in the city and avoid layoffs as it heads into a prearranged bankruptcy intended to cut its debt and take the company private.

A Getty spokesperson confirmed the plans in an email to GeekWire, citing β€œno expected impact on employees.” The company has about 300 employees in Seattle, out of nearly 1,650 worldwide as of the end of last year.

Getty is best known for its news, sports and entertainment photography. Its operations were profitable last year, with $84 million in operating income on $981 million in revenue, but it posted a $206 million net loss after interest and other costs.

The company has been weighed down for years by debt, now totaling nearly $1.5 billion, much of it going back to its years under private equity ownership starting in 2008. It returned to the public markets in 2022 through a SPAC deal that valued it at $4.8 billion.

A failed $3.7 billion merger with rival Shutterstock, announced in January 2025, deepened its financial crisis, as Getty spent more than $100 million on fees and financing. Getty abandoned the deal this summer after U.K. regulators required Shutterstock to sell its editorial business as a condition of closing, which Getty viewed as a deal-breaker.

Getty’s creative stock-photo business has shown signs of vulnerability, with revenue down 2.6% in Q2, as it competes with AI-generated images and the boom in smartphone photography.

Under the restructuring, members of the Getty family and affiliates of Koch Equity Development will invest up to $533 million and own the company together, Getty announced Monday. Koch Equity Development, the investment arm of Koch Inc., has been a minority investor in Getty since 2018, the spokesperson said. It owned 27.5% of Getty’s shares as of April, according to a regulatory filing.

The deal will β€œenable us to accelerate investment into the business and better position Getty Images for long-term success,” Getty CEO Craig Peters said in the announcement.

Getty plans to file for Chapter 11 in the coming weeks, aiming to emerge by year-end.

Bondholders agreed to retire $270 million in unsecured debt, and most secured lenders agreed to reduce interest payments and push out repayment. Public shareholders are expected to be wiped out. The NYSE suspended trading in the stock Sept. 29, after shares fell to 12 cents.

Mark Getty and Jonathan Klein co-founded the company in London in 1995. In 1998, Getty acquired Seattle-based stock-photo company PhotoDisc, and it moved its HQ to Seattle in 1999.

In 2016, Getty became the distributor of images from Corbis, its longtime Seattle-based rival, after Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates sold Corbis to China’s Visual China Group.

Getty’s current offices are in the Union Station complex near Lumen Field.

Strive Buys 1,107 Bitcoin For $94.5M As Holdings Pass 27,400 BTC

TL;DR

  • Strive bought another 1,107 BTC for approximately $94.5 million between September 21 and September 25.
  • The company paid an average of $85,396 per Bitcoin.
  • Strive now holds 27,462 BTC as it continues expanding one of the largest public-company Bitcoin treasuries.

Strive has added another 1,107 Bitcoin to its corporate treasury, spending approximately $94.5 million during the latest week of accumulation.

The company disclosed the purchases on September 28, saying it paid an average of $85,396 per BTC between September 21 and September 25.

The acquisition pushes Strive’s total holdings to 27,462 BTC.

Preferred Stock Supplied Most Of The Capital

The latest purchase was funded largely through Strive’s SATA preferred stock.

According to the company’s disclosure, roughly 85% of the capital deployed during the week came from SATA-related financing.

Warrant exercises generated another approximately $12.4 million.

That financing structure is becoming as important to the Bitcoin treasury story as the purchases themselves.

Companies following the Strategy model need a repeatable way to raise capital without simply spending operating cash.

Preferred securities give Strive another route.

Investors receive a security with its own income and capital characteristics, while Strive can direct proceeds toward additional Bitcoin.

The company is effectively building a capital-markets engine around BTC accumulation.

Strive Is Closing In On The Largest Corporate Holders

With 27,462 BTC, Strive now sits among the biggest publicly tracked corporate Bitcoin treasuries.

It remains behind several larger holders, but the gap has narrowed quickly as the company has continued raising capital and buying.

The pace also creates a more complicated question for shareholders.

Owning more Bitcoin does not automatically mean each share becomes more valuable.

Investors need to consider how much equity, preferred stock or other financing is issued to fund the purchases and what happens to Bitcoin exposure on a per-share basis.

That is why treasury companies increasingly talk about metrics such as Bitcoin per share rather than simply headline BTC totals.

Strive has made clear that growing its Bitcoin position remains central to the strategy.

The latest purchase is not enormous relative to Strategy’s holdings, but $94.5 million in a single week is meaningful for a company still climbing the treasury rankings.

It also comes as Bitcoin trades around the low-to-mid $80,000 range rather than at a deeply discounted point in the cycle.

Strive is not waiting for a major pullback.

It is continuing to convert capital-market access into Bitcoin while that access remains available.
