Hey BBQ Fam,
Chef Erica here. Recently, I stood on a stage talking about visibility, and it hit me.
Code 1 BBQ didn’t grow because we got lucky. It grew because we kept showing up, telling the story, and inviting people into the journey.
People see the restaurant now. They see the dining room, the drinks, the Friday night dinner rushes, the food coming out of the kitchen, the TV features, the events, the growth.
What they don’t always see is what it took to get here.
The long days of uncertainty. Documenting everything. Constantly showing up to keep telling the story, even before anyone was really listening or dining in.
Momentum is a strange thing.
For a long time, it feels like you’re pushing uphill and wondering if anyone notices. Then one day, you look around and realize something has shifted.
If you’ve ever liked a post, shared a video, stopped in for dinner, or told a friend about Code 1… this story is yours too.
Because what we’ve built here didn’t happen overnight. And it definitely didn’t happen alone.
And now? Here’s what’s been happening at Code 1.
It’s hard to believe, but we are now over a year into our bigger home at 228 Main Street.
And one of the biggest changes?
We are now full-service every day.
That means on our busiest nights like Fridays and Saturdays we’ve got servers on the floor, drinks flowing, and a smoother experience from start to finish.
What does that mean for you?
It means you can settle in, order an appetizer, and enjoy the moment.
Grab a beer. Sip a cocktail like an espresso martini or margarita. Order a wine, a mocktail, or a non-alcoholic beverage.
And while you wait?
Relax.
Because when you choose to dine with us, we want it to feel like more than just grabbing dinner—we want it to feel like a full experience worth slowing down for.
Full-Service means great BBQ, great service, great drinks, and a night out that feels easy.
In case you missed it…
We were featured on Wicked Bites (which was wild and wicked fun).
And…
We also filmed with Phantom Gourmet
As soon as we know when that episode drops—we’ll let you know.
Speaking of smashburgers…
Y’all loved them so much we made them available EVERY DAY.
That’s right.
Single. Double. Triple.
Or go all out:
Or…
Build your own.
Who knows? Maybe your creation makes the menu and gets named after you.
We’ve hosted some pretty fun things in our event space lately.
A Harry Potter-themed baby shower complete with a bartender.
A sourdough bread making class with Shushan Farms.
An 80-person company BBQ event (they reserved the whole restaurant).
Networking events.
Private parties.
Celebrations big and small.
Our event space holds about 40 people and is perfect for birthdays, showers, networking events, celebrations, and gatherings of all kinds.
Got more than that? Call us to talk about reserving the restaurant for your event.
And yes…
We’ll handle the food and drinks too.
And if the party is happening somewhere else?
We’re growing—and we’re looking for some great people to grow with us.
We’re hiring for part-time positions: Line Cooks, Dishwashers, Meat Cutter, Takeout/Hosts
If you know someone who loves food, hospitality, and a fast-paced environment—send them our way.
When Sean and I started this thing, we didn’t have some master plan.
We had a smoker. A love for BBQ. A willingness to work. And a belief that if we kept showing up long enough, something good might happen.
And it did.
Not overnight.
Not easily.
But one day at a time.
One post at a time.
One customer at a time.
One story at a time.
And now, when I look around this restaurant, I don’t just see what Sean and I built.
I see what all of us built.
That’s the truth.
From the pit… to the people.
And we’re not done yet.
And don’t forget…
With gratitude, Erica & Sean
