  • Roasting - I always dry roast ajwain in pan on medium heat until aroma comes out strong. I don't roast too much or it will burn and smell becomes bad, just roast until golden brown.
  • Cooling - I let roasted ajwain cool complete before tying in cloth, if it is too hot it makes cloth uncomfortable to hold.Β 
  • Cloth selection - I use muslin cloth because it is soft and does not irritate baby skin, any thin breathable cloth also works.Β 
  • Potli size - I make small potli so that babies and kids can easily hold and play with it without dropping.Β 
  • Storage - I keep potli in container after two days aroma fade and make fresh one. Don't keep same potli for too long as aroma become weak and it not work good anymore.
  • Safety - I always make sure knot is tight so that ajwain don't spill out, keep it away from baby mouth so that they don't put it in mouth. When baby is sleeping I keep potli near but not direct on face.
